About a month ago I moved to South Africa. It’s like picking up your entire life and jumping into a time machine that takes you to the nineties. People still use ADSL, actually talk to each other instead of staring at a telephone all the time, and drive instead of bike. I’m not usually very pretentious about me and my fixed gear bike as I’m still just a yuppy scumbag in this country, but I have seen a total of 9 bikes on the street. What’s wrong with people? There are two bikes lanes, and 9 bikes. Before I left Buenos Aires, I felt that I was a minority biking around and that people were just starting to catch on to that fact that bikes are super easy to get around on, it keeps you in shape, you actually see what the hell is going on in the city, you get to talk to crazy people at stop lights, etc, etc,

Anyway, here are some pics from the first month.

Recently I ran into creative mornings, actually while browsing around Viemo – what an amazing initiative.  Such amazing people doing amazing things that it blows my mind.  This could even give Ted a run for it’s money focusing on the creative aspect of why people do what they do. Plus most of the people that are giving speeches and talking about what they do are doing a favor for someone – they don’t really need it, or have the desire to talk about themselves.  For example this understated guy:

I’d like to start Creative Mornings Buenos Aires. 

Great idea on how to make something typically boring on structure into useful and awesome.   The street sheep produced by Chirtophe Machet figured out a quick way to slow people down. Commissioned by the municipality of Gland, Switzerland, each sheep is bathed in a bright or refelective color, forming a flock that calls for greater driver attention and the much appropriate shop.
